TRATAMIENTO ORTODÓNCICO DE PREMOLAR SUPERIOR IMPACTADA POR MOLAR DECIDUA ANQUILOSADA ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT OF IMPACTED MAXILLARY PREMOLAR FOR ANKYLOSED DECIDUOUS MOLAR

Ankylosis of deciduous molars is an eruption disorder, where the deciduous tooth will not ever erupt, staying impacted. If it is not timely diagnosed, serious problems can occur, like premolar impaction, and the loss of the space in the arch as the first permanent molar is inclined mesially. The case that is reported is about a child of 11 year old, with ankylosis diagnosis of the uper right second deciduous molar causing the impaction of the second premolar and the mesial inclination of the first permanent molar, causing loss of space in the upper arch. The treatment included extraction of ankylosed deciduous molar with previous last space recoveny by moving the first permanent molar distally, in order to not include the impacted premolar with orthodontic traction.
