Abstract

Beginning with definitions on patriotism, the paper reviews researches concerned home and abroad. Then a questionnaire on patriotism is done among students at Shanghai Publishing and Printing College and University of Texas at Austin. The finding is, although most of Chinese students think it necessary to be patriotic and themselves as patriots, most of them assume to fairly lack of education on patriotism, not to be willing to join the army for the country, and not to express their patriotism. Finally, some suggestions are raised to enhance patriotism education of Chinese students
