Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is one of the oldest and most popular cultivated cucurbitaceous crop. It is a monoecious, annual, trailing or climbing vine. It is a thermophillic and frost susceptible species, growing best at temperature above 20'C . It is cultivated for fresh consumption as salad or slicing cucumber, or as pickling cucumber in the immature fruit stage.
