Abstract

Endangerments of species are defined by criteria of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) while Protected plant species are defined by Nature Protecion. This is a pioneer floristic research of Generalski Stol Municipality and was conducted from 2009. to 2010. Fifty three sites were researched through out the Municipality on which 97 protected plant taxa was found, out of which 20 Strongly protected and 77 Protected plant taxa. There was 15 endangered plant taxa observed from which one is Criticaly endangered (CR), three are Endangered, four Vulnerable (VU), five Near threatened (NT) and two Least Concern (LC). Most represented family is Ranunculaceae with 17 (17%) endangered and protected plant taxa, while the most represented life form are Geophytes with 45 (42%) of endangered and protected plant taxa. Analysis of ecological indicators has showed that protected and endangered flora prefers half shaded, moderately warm to warm habitats and are indicators of weak acidic to weak alkaline soils. It is essential to maintain grassland vegetation, also shrub and woodland egde vegetation which represent most suitable habitat for a considerable portion of protected and endangered flora of Generalski Stol Municipality.
