Abstract

This study entitled “Sociological Analysis of Child Abuse in “Born into the Children of God” Novel by Natacha Tormey,” focuses on the types of child abuse and the factor causes child abuse in “Born into the Children of God” novel by Natacha Tormey based on Sociological analysis. The theories used in this study were taken from Chamberlin (2014), Hanser (2016), and Kim (2000). From the finding and analysis, there are four types of child abuse found in “Born into the Children of God” novel. They are physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. Furthermore, there are four factor causes child abuse in the novel including Individual pathology, role malfunction, societal condition, and system failure.
