Abstract

The psychoanalytical approach of women in psychic or physical pain is often confronted with the problematics of the mother-daughter relationship where the question of transmission of the feminine holds a prominent position. Through the peculiarity of this relationship, the hatred and love subjectivisation which binds mother and daughter constitutes one of the work axes favouring the transformation of the alienating links of narcissistic identification into a process of construction of feminine identity inducing alterity. Considering the alienating function of hatred through the new developments of the relationship between a HIV-positive mother and her adolescent daughter, we can thus understand the function of hatred in the construction of the mother-daughter relationship and the transmission of the feminine.
