The main aim of the present paper is to prove the existence of common fixed points for nonexpansive and asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in convex metric spaces.Such spaces, introduced by Takahashi, include Banach spaces; and our results generalize those of Bahtin, De Marr, Goebel and Kirk, Hu, Kirk, and others.Key Words and Phrases.
