Abstract

A propane bubble chamber has been used to study the general characteristics of secondary charged pions produced in ..pi../sup -/ /sup 12/C interactions at 4 GeV/c. From analysis of the experimental data it follows that the inclusive production of ..pi../sup + -/ mesons is similar in many details to the same type of production at 40 GeV/c.
