The holographic indicator converting a physical variation to a visual sign is reported as a kind of the optical indicator The soft hologram was studied which shows an optical sign for the external force in a reconstruction image under a stretch condition. The holographic indicator is designed by simulating a hologram pattern from the expected sign pattern and then fabricated by the MEMS processes such as a direct exposure of the hologram pattern, the lift off a deposited layer and imprinting to a PDMS sheet At first, it was confirmed that the fabricated hologram by the computer-generated holography and the micro-fabrication process indicates a same image as a designed pattern Next, the switch of an optical sign in the holographic reconstruction image was tested by stretching the hologram. It was found that a stripe image in the original state was blurred and another stripe image was formed with the stretch of the soft hologram by the external force The feasibility of the holographic indicator was demonstrated.
