Abstract
Swimming experiments with inexperienced rats after total body irratliation with x rays are reported. Swimmingtimes of the irradiated animals were longer in comparison with experiments done with non-irradiated rats. The irterval between irradiation and the swimming test was important for the duration of the swimming-time. By transfusing blood of irradiated animals to non- irradiated animals a significant prolongation of the swimming-time could be observed in the non-irradiated animals. The problem of the mechanism of the effect is discussed briefly. (auth)
