743 Fundamental Study on Perception of Tactile Sensations by Pushing

This paper presents the fundamental study on the perception of tactile sensations by pushing. First, various tactile feelings of cushions are collected through questionnaires based on the paired comparison semantic differential method. Furthermore, the factor analysis is introduced to evaluate and classify the feelings. It is found that softness and elasticity are dominant factors. Next, questionnaires under various conditions are carried out on softness and elasticity. The relation of cutaneous sensation and deep sensation to tactile perception is discussed.
