Abstract
Rehabilitation may imply different degrees of recovery to different individuals. Ephemeral gullies are produced by concentrated flow erosion in swales or other topographically controlled locations. Many of the rehabilitation practices and procedures in common usage today have evolved by trial and error in reaction to local conditions. For a design storm, soil and agronomic management system, the concentrated flow magnitudes thus calculated could be used to evaluate the stability of the concentrated flow channel. Many of the rehabilitation practices and procedures in common usage today have evolved by trial and error in reaction to local conditions. The various remediation procedures address one or more of the process controls. For downstream valley-floor gully and stream channel erosion problems, runoff rates and magnitudes are larger, requiring a different mix of conservation practices. Site-specific material and environmental conditions must be considered in designing individual abatement activities.
