Abstract

In this paper, field experiments were conducted in Yujiang Institute of Agricultural Science to compare the soil fertility between winter fallow and winter cropping in double cropping paddy field. Results indicated that: in comparison with winter fallow-double cropping rice system, soil bulk density had decreased in all winter cropping systems, especially in winter barley-double cropping rice system. The soil organic matter, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium and available potassium contents were increased in all winter cropping systems, but soil available nitrogen and effective phosphorus contents were decreased in winter pea-double cropping rice system.Considering all indexes, planting horsebean in double cropping paddy field in winter had the most obvious effect on the increase of soil nutrient content.
