Abstract
Objective To analyze the measles incidence in Qingxing county,so as to understand the measles epidemic characteristics and to provide the strategies for measles control. Methods Epidemiological data were retrospectively analyzed by using Epi Info software. Results 253 cases of measles were reported in Qingxing from 2006 to 2007.190 cases were confirmed through laboratory diagnosis and 63 cases were confirmed through clinical diagnosis. The average incidence rate for measles was 22.14/100,000.High incidence(67.19%) was noted between April and July. The disease occurrence was high in infants of less than 8 months old and the individual with an age of over 20.56.13% of patients had no previous vaccination history and 32.80% had unclear vaccination history. Both sporadic and epidemic measles were noted. The average annual incidence of measles in Qingxing was highest(138.72/100,000).Conclusion There is a good correlation between the incidence of measles and the history of measles immunization.Immunization with measles vaccine can prevent and control the epidemic of measles.
