Abstract
This study documents a general trend in response of U.S. tidal inlets to construction of single jetties, and aids in improving rational design of inlets and inlet structures. Preliminary results of an inlet study is presented, including a summary of the history of several improved inlets and qualitative explanations for their observed behavior. (Author)
