Recently, the turbomachinery with large capacity such as gas turbine and steam turbine has been used under severe conditions of high loading and high temperature. Therefore, the vibration problem becomes easy to occur on the turbomachinery. In order to develop the turbomachinery with high reliability, it is indispensable to exactly predict the vibration characteristics of the blade, the shaft and other elements at the design, and to prevent the harmful vibration. This paper explains the vibration phenomenon of the turbomacinery, and the latest technology on the vibration analysis applied in the design of the turbomachinery such as gas turbine, steam turbine, and so on.
