Abstract

Dairy buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) is making a very significant contribution to the total food supply as milk producer in some Asian countries like India and Pakistan. There are a number of diseases which adversely affect the health of this dairy animal. Of these, mastitis is the major production-limiting disease causing staggering economic losses to the dairy industry. Current therapies of clinical mastitis during lactation are not very successful and have poor cure rates. It is imperative to find ways to improve the cure rates of mastitis. This book discuss new strategies to treat sub- clinical and clinical bubaline (dairy buffalo) mastitis.
