Abstract

Through the novel the writer is interested with the feminist ideas and point of view. First, the female character in this novel plays a big role where her career achieves a better position in the society as a woman compared to many years before, which the women should not have to be trapped at home, they also have the right to get a proper job as men’s and also the opportunities in education and career. Women have the chances to develop their lives outside the home. That’s the same goals with the writer found the article entitled The Roots of Individualist Feminism in 19th- Century America written by Mc Elroy (1988) states “women began to realize that there were opportunities for them outside of the home, and that they could have a place in the world as well as men”. The second, the writer finds the images of women which are described in this novel. The author describes the main woman character as independent, brave, active, and strong. By using supporting male characters, the writer assumes that the author is support feminist because he designs his woman character whose broke her traditional women as weakness and passivity. All the explanations above motivate the writer to analyze women’s image and how their relation toward feminist point of view to assure that the author is support feminist. The writer believes that this analysis is very important to be conducted.
