Abstract
Thirty one ornamental plant species were screened against Meloidogyne incognita and M. javanica separately in microplots. Of these, 10 plants viz., adenoealymma, chrysanthemum, dracaena, fern, lantana, night queen, perennial aster, rose, rose wild and snak plant were completely free from infection of both M. incognita and M. javanica. While amaranthus, justicia, mogra, nerium, pomegranate and zebrina were completely free from M. incognita and golden rod, gulmendi, hibiscus, russelia were completely free from M. javanica. Aralia sp. exhibited resistant reaction to both the species of Meloidogyne. Eranthemum and Vemonia were resistant to M. incagnila whereas, alternathera, amaranthus and pomegranate were moderately resistant to M. javanica only. Remaining plants were in the range of moderately susceptible to highly susceptible types.
