A Comparative Study of Individual's Actively Involved in Retirement Financial Planning Against Individual's Not Undertaking Retirement Financial Planning

Abstract

Retirement Financial planning is inevitable part of everyone’s life. With reforms in pension sector there is gradual shift in the developed as well as developing countries to move from a Defined Benefit to Defined Contribution schemes. With this now there is lot of onus on individuals to plan for their retirement. Planning for retirement is seen as an objective which can be always postponed over current needs. This study by the researcher is an attempt to compare two factors Financial literacy and Retirement planning awareness amongst individual actively involved in Retirement planning and individuals not undertaking Retirement Financial planning. The study results suggest that there no significant correlation in Financial literacy and Retirement planning awareness amongst individual actively involved in Retirement planning and individuals not undertaking Retirement Financial planning.
