Abstract
The research entitles “The Study of Figurative Language Found in To Kill A Mockingbird novel by Harper Lee” discusses about the form and the meaning of figurative language appeared on the novel written by Harper Lee. The aim of this research is to find the form out of figurative language related to simile, hyperbole, personification and metaphor and also to find out the meaning of each of them. To attain the aim, the research is held by applying descriptive method in which analyzing the text by figuring out speech of the characters. The research resulted in that To Kill A Mockingbird novel contains many figurative language related to simile, hyperbole, personification and metaphor. Every figurative language related to simile, hyperbole, personification and metaphor has the meaning which have the role and function in which it is effectively to express feeling and intents of the speakers non-literal.
