The state of rooming house reform in Victoria

Since the Rooming House Taskforce Report in 2010, local government in Victoria has taken a more active role in the regulation of rooming houses, which provide accommodation to people on low incomes who are often incredibly vulnerable. A rooming house is defined as a property that offers one or more rooms for rent, with the total number of occupants of these rooms being four or more.
