Abstract
The objective of this presentation is to provide discussion on how to improve the interdisciplinary information exchange to enhance safety on roads and streets from the viewpoint of the highway maintenance and construction discipline. Highway construction and maintenance tasks involve those work and management activities needed to plan, design and perform the building and repair of street and highway system and appurtenances necessary for the safe accommodation of vehicles and pedestrians. Work zone safety is an area of special concern, and separate standards and guidelines have been established for better understanding and direction.
