Abstract

Web mining techniques seek to extract knowledge from Web data. Web mining is a cross point of database, information retrieval and artificial intelligence. Web content mining (WCM), web structure mining (WSM) and web usage-mining (WUM) buildup the whole web mining. This article critically reviews the research trends in three major area of Web mining(— content, structure, and usage—as well as emerging work in Semantic Web mining  and research issues, techniques and development efforts with a goal of providing a broad overview rather than an in-depth analysis are presented in this paper.
