Abstract

The characteristics of the external morphological features of the Balkhash minnow Phoxinus poljakowii are given for the first time for the population of this endemic central Asian minnow species inhabiting Alakol-Sasykkol basin. The relative stability of the values of the meristic features and a significant variability of the types of the squamation are reported.
