Abstract

This work proposes a new three parameters lifetime distribution with which can accommodate data in a context of competing risks. Its hazard function may assume several forms such as increasing, decreasing, bathtub upside-down, among others. Expressions are derived in closed form for the survival, probability density and hazard functions, for the moments, order statistics and quantiles. Estimation is based on maximum likelihood. The methodology is illustrated on a real data set.
