On the Inclined Slicing Method at Wanibuti Mine

Abstract

Several mining methods, such as room-and-pillar, shrinkaga, cut-and-fill, etc, had been adopted to the mining of the gypsum at Wanibuti Mine.However, because of the weakness of ore bodies and the surrounding rocks, we couldn't find the suitable mining method for this massive deposit in view-points of safety, are extraction and mining efficiency.Since last year, we have attemted a method to be called “Inclined Slicing”, and obtained good results. The method is as follows:1. To prevent ore falls from the back or the breast, we made stoping face narrow such as long wall method in coal mine.2. To increase efficiency in moving broken ore to chute from the stoping face, the face is inclined at the angle of 30°C.3. To prevent filling in the mined out section from falling to the section to be mined later, face is advanced at the angle of repose of filling.
