Abstract
First part of a study of fusulinids from the Nyukawa group (Permian) of Gifu, Japan; deals with the stratigraphy and facies variations in the Gonbo region (the western of three provinces) where deposition was accompanied by submarine volcanism. Among the fusulinids described, five species are new.
