Abstract

In Chloridizing roasting of lead sulphide, chlorine is produced by the followingreaction:_??_Lead oxide is produced by the oxidation of lead sulphide, and the product is reacted by chlorinein the preceding reaction to convert into lead chloride. The reactions may be represented byfollowing system:PbS+3/2 O2=PbO+SO2PbO+Cl2=PbCl2+1/2 O2
