Design of Foundations for Control of Settlement contains many papers covering a broad range of issues in soil mechanics. Topics include consolidation of nonhomogeneous clay layers, methods of estimating settlement, consolidation testing with back pressure, interpretation of the consolidation test, compressibility of clay, shallow foundations, and pile and pier foundations.
