Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the function of narratives in Korean class conversation. For this purpose, this study analyzes the function of narratives in each class stage based on conversation analysis and interactional sociolinguistic methodology. As a result of the analysis, the narratives in the Korean class conversation was functioning in accordance with the communication purpose of each class stage. In conclusion, the narratives not only performs the functions of the input to the learners but also the functions of the outputs.
