Abstract
A real-time, rainfall-runoff, flood forecast model, developed by the Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC), was applied to two of tributary basins in the Ohio River System. The basins ranged in size from 441 square miles to 4,290 square miles. The process of historical calibration, testing and real-time operation of the model are discussed. The use of the model in the operation of Corps of Engineers flood control reservoirs is also described along with recommendations for future enhancements to the model.
