Introducing New Process Technology

Abstract
The commercialisation of process technology is a major undertaking. It carries many potential and costly hazards. These are heightened when flammable and toxic materials are involved, and more so if a process is a prototype. Whilst these hazards are at their highest at the initial start of Commercial Operations, they are also continuing ones. But they are identifiable and measureable. To tame and control them successfully, and to 'get it right and keep it right', requires the adoption and establishment of systematic management procedures and systems - from conception, through design and on to the day-to-day routine operations. Hazard analysis and safety studies followed by operational performance audits, contribute importantly to attaining safe and profitable commercial operations.
