The competitive advantage is achieved through effective economic development through a process of continuous modernization and innovation. Businesses must not only recognize the necessity of innovation, but above all to act to develop the necessary skills. This paper presents the general concepts on competitive advantage and its importance for enterprises and a case study on directions of action to achieve a competitive advantage by a Romanian SME.
