Abstract

Objective To study the preparation of the dandelion ophthalmic thermosensitive gel. Methods The ophthalmic gel was prepared with poloxamer 407 /188 and HPMC,and the gelation temperature before and after tear dilution was employed as the index. The prescriptions were designed by uniformity design method. Results The optimized formulation was a freely flowing liquid at room temperature and converted to a firm gel under physiological condition, and it was accorded with the requirement for ophthalmic application. The in vitro release experiment showed that the release of drug from polo xamer gels followed zero-order kinetics. Conclusion The preparation process of the dandelion ophthalmic thermosensitive gel is simple and feasible.
