Relations between genetic distance and some possible factors of genetic heterogeneity of local human populations from the area of northeast Bosnia

Abstract

The genetic distance regarding the complex of the ten qualitative characteristics in the group of the five local populations from the area of northeast Bosnia (Bosanska Bijela, Memici, Stupari, Gornja Tuzla i Teocak) was studied. The possible relations between genetic distance and some possible factors of genetic heterogeneity of human populations (mean marital distance, relative frequency of marital distance 0, endogamy coefficient mean space distance, population size and mean offspring size)were observed. Values of genetic distance in the observed local populations showed relatively small degree of genetic heterogeneity. No significant relations were found between genetic and individual factors of genetic heterogeneity in the analysis of genetic distance and possible factors of heterogeneity. The analysis of multiple correlation showed significant relations between genetic distance and parameters of propagation and spatial isolation with reproduction rate. The size of population with above parameters also has significant influence on the recorded genetic distance. These positive relations were recorded between genetic distance and double and triplet factors.
