Abstract

This report is part of a series that presents findings from the\n1977 Nationwide Personal Transportation Study (NPTS). This report\ndescribes home-to-work trips and trave l in 1977. The home-to-work\ntrip purpose is explored relative to location, household composition\nfactors such as drivers, income and occupation, and characteristics of travel such as mode of travel, time of day , and vehicle\noccupancy. Comparisons are made with data from the 1969 NPTS\nto evaluate trends in home-to-work trips and travel over time .\n
