The level of acquisition of the Serbian prosodic system in students whose first language is not Serbian

The aim of this paper is to examine the inventory of prosodic system among students with mother language other than Serbian and to describe to which extent and in which way these students adopted the prosodic system of standard Serbian language. In the paper are mentioned typological phonetic and prosodic differences between the Serbian language on the one hand and the Slovak and Hungarian on the other. There are difficulties faced by students who learn Serbian as their second language, but also the opportunities to overcome these difficulties.
