Abstract
Abstract : Enlisted accessions of Navy veterans in 51 ratings to the Navy's Selected Reserve are modeled over a 5-year period. Nonlinear probit estimates of the probability of enlistment are obtained for 23 rating groups. The probabilities of enlistment are found to be positively related to reserve pay, the unemployment rate, and the Navy rating.
