Abstract

The problem treated here is a three-dimensional flow generated by a high-aspect-ratio hydrofoil, moving with constant forward velocity U at an arbitrary angle through an infinitely deep weightless fluid at a fixed depth of submersion h which is measured from its trailing edge to the undisturbed free-surface. The fluid is assumed to be incompressible and inviscid and the flow to be irrotational.
