Abstract

Radiofrequency and microwave devices offer a suitable and controlled exposure apparatus for biological systems. The possibility of accurately designing the field spatial distribution and quantifying the temperature increase in such a system, leads to their use in industrial applications, such as chemical and biochemical reactions. In this paper it is presented the design of a resonant cavity at 915 MHz to be used as a reliable heating system for enhancing enzymatic reactions. Operating conditions and parameters are analyzed using multi physics option offered by COMSOL.
