Abstract

A DIRECT-INVERSE METHOD FOR TRANSONIC AND SEPARATEDFLOWS ABOUT AIRFOILSLeland A. CarlsonAerospace Engineering DepartmentTexas AM and it is formulated using Cartesian coordinates. Since the methodutilizes inverse boundary conditions in regions of separated flow, it issuitable for predicting the flowfield about airfoils having trailing edgeseparated flow under high lift conditions. Comparisons with experimental dataindicate that the method should be a useful tool for applied aerodynamicanalyses.
