Abstract
Recently, the U.S. and EU bilaterally agreed with China about major issues that should be solved for China`s accession to the WTO. The agreement was a major step toward securing China`s entry into the WTO within the end of 2001. China`s accession to the WTO will affect both chinese and international agriculture. This paper outlines the recent situations and prospects on China`s acession to the WTO, and the China`s bilateral agreement with major trading partner. Also the paper analyzes the structure of agricultural imports and export in China, and overviews the effect of China`s accession to the WTO on chinese agriculture, international trade, and Korean agriculture. Based on the previous findings, the paper draws out policy implications of China`s accession for the Korean agriculture, taking into account the direct and indirect impacts.
