Abstract

The concerns of Friends of the Earth which is involved in monitoring plantation operations in Victoria, over the certification of Hancock Victorian Plantations, by Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), is detailed. It is mentioned that lack of independent forest monitoring and that the certifiying bodies are paid for by the companies that they are auditing, is a faulty system.
