Abstract
Results of several studies to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture as a form of treatment for fibromyalgia (FM), a musculoskeletal disorder characterised by widespread chronic pain are discussed. To date, there is no overwhelming evidence regarding the benefits of acupuncture in FM; however, so far, a course of three sessions per week appears to be the best dose, but length of overall treatment remains unclear.
