Abstract
The urgency of the problem stated in the article is determined by the fact that a future teacher of natural-science cycle should be well-grounded in mathematical disciplines, have mathematical competencies that contribute to an adequate application of mathematics in solving the problems emerging in daily life. Therefore, there is a need to find more effective techniques of teaching mathematics as a methodological basis of scientific knowledge. The leading methods to the study of this problem became a theoretical analysis of pedagogical literature that enabled to formulate the definition of mathematical competence of the teachers of natural sciences and pedagogical experiment that confirmed the effectiveness of application of the system Mathematica in the classes for higher mathematics. The main findings consist in distinguishing four levels of formation of mathematical competences (low, medium, high, very high), in determining the basic competencies of the system formed in higher mathematics classes. The significance of the results obtained is that they together contain the decision of major scientific task – the development of mathematical competences of future teachers of natural-science cycle with the use of computer technology in education. The results of investigation complement and concretize the existing theory of higher education, contribute to the solution of the problems of motivation of teaching higher mathematics to the future teachers of natural-science cycle.
