Abstract
Flat fluorescent lamps for LCD backlighting have been developing using hollow cold cathodes. Excellent uniformity results have been obtained compared with the conventional backlighting system of a tubular lamp. The lamps made by this method are superior in life span, because of the use of a cold cathode as the electrode, compared to the conventional tubular lamp with a hot cathode.>
