Abstract

Microwave operational scenario evaluation software (MOSES) for IBM-PC-compatible computers was developed to analyze propagation effects up to 1000 GHz. The purpose of the software is to provide a uniform, user-friendly interface to a great variety of analysis programs so that it is not necessary to learn to use different software packages each time a new problem is analyzed. Applications to be analyzed are categorized into scenario types. For each scenario type, there is a separate menu listing a number of analyses, each predicting various aspects of system performance. Users can add their own analyses to the menus, making use of a library of subroutines for modeling propagation effects such as clear-air absorption, cloud attenuation, and rain attenuation. A climatological database of parameters for the propagation models is provided for many land areas.>
