Enforcement Mechanism of the International Criminal Court

Chapter 6 of the book discusses the enforcement mechanism of the ICC and the need for the enforcement mechanism to be regionalized. It gives a description on the means of regionalization of the enforcement of the international criminal law to prosecute international crimes effectively. Further, the chapter highlights and describes the merits of the regionalization of the international criminal law enforcement. The chapter then provides a discussion on the amendment of the Rome Statute following the indictment of President al-Bashir. It also suggests probable solutions to solve the ambiguity present in the Rome Statute which surfaced during the indictment of the President al-Bashir. This chapter concludes with a recommendation of introducing a Convention on Prevention of Crimes against Humanity so as to combat such international crimes.
