Survey of the resources and use of the libraries of three selected secondary schools in Owerri Metropolis

Abstract

This research work surveys the resources and use of the libraries of three selected Secondary Schools in Owerri metropolis with a view to ascertaining the availability, level of adequacy of the resources and use vis–a–vis the standards. The questionnaire, interview and personal observation methods were employed in data collection. The respondents were made up of 30 teachers and 270 students from the three schools. The findings revealed an ineffective use of the libraries due to gross inadequacy of the resources of the libraries and other problems hampering the effective use of the libraries and their resources.
